A sanctuary for grasshoppers and other insects during the summer months.

North Road Open Space has a pond, water meadow and mown paths through grass meadows, which are surrounded by trees.

Parking

There’s limited parking on the roads near the reserve.

Dogs

Dogs must be on a short lead when livestock is near and during the bird breeding season from 1 March to 31 July. At other times dogs must be under close control.

Habitat

A mixture of meadows and woodland.

Look out for

The more common butterflies, dragonflies and damselflies.
