Branksome Dene Chine
Steep wooded valleys, heathland and ridges next to Branksome Dene Chine beach.
At around 5.2ha, Branksome Dene Chine nature reserve is the largest semi-natural area in the Poole Bay Cliffs wildlife corridor.
The site is a Geological Site of Scientific Interest as it shows large exposures of river valley development.
Although much of the reserve’s shrub layer is dominated by dense stands of rhododendron and laurel, a variety of tree species and small areas of remnant heathland are visible.
News and events are available on the Poole's heathland Facebook page.
