Transition plan of alternative schools to Parkfield School

We have been working with Reach South Trust, the Department for Education and local school leaders to develop a plan to support the smooth move of children to alternative schools. It will ensure a smooth transition for children to other local schools rated as at least ‘Good’ by Ofsted and is within a reasonable travelling distance. We are grateful to our local head teachers who have been incredibly supportive and accommodating.

We will be writing to each family in the week beginning 17 June 2024 to explain the transfer process and next steps.

While we work to secure alternative offers for children on roll at Parkfield School, parents and carers should not submit separate in-year applications for places. The process of admission for all children on roll at Parkfield will be administered as part of the transition arrangements and any applications received outside will not be processed in the normal way. We appreciate the co-operation of parents and carers during this difficult time.

How Dorset Council allocate places for Dorset residents outside of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole

We are working closely with Dorset Council to ensure those families who live outside of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole are supported.

Residents within Dorset Council are encouraged to apply for a place at a Dorset school for September 2024 and should use the existing admissions page on the Dorset Council website.
