Wraparound Care

Applications for Phase 2 closed on 15 December 2024, any applications received after this date will not be accepted.

The Government announced a major expansion of childcare support aiming to remove barriers to work for parents with children under three in a bid to help more parents return to work. You can read more about childcare expansion.

Wraparound Care is for childcare providers and prospective providers who want to know how to apply for Wraparound Care Grant funding in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

We strongly recommend that you read the terms and conditions of the grant and the pre-requisites as this could save you a considerable amount of time and effort. These documents set out the conditions and requirements you must fulfil before you can apply for the grant.

Wraparound Care seeks to increase the provision of childcare between 8am until 6pm during term time for primary school aged children.

You can read more about Wraparound childcare including everything you need to know about before and after school childcare on the Education Hub.

The Wraparound Care Project has both capital and revenue grant funding available.

You can also:

Revenue funding

Funding should be used to fund new and expanded wraparound provision, either to meet current demand or guarantee supply to build future demand. This can take the form of funding to contribute to startup or expansion and running costs.

It can also be used to cover costs including staffing, training, and transport costs such as minibus hire (not purchase, although capital funding could be used for this), as well as resources. It can also be used to contribute to running costs whilst demand builds, to remove any financial risk to providers of offering additional places before demand is guaranteed.

A full list of types of acceptable expenditure is listed in the application guidance.
