What changed after LGR
Local Government Reorganisation brought together Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole into a single council, creating one organisation and one set of services for all residents. After LGR, teams across the council worked to combine systems, policies and processes that had previously operated separately. This included unifying technology platforms, aligning service models and creating a single digital presence for residents and businesses.
Creating one council also meant developing a new organisational structure, a shared set of values and a consistent approach to customer experience. The move allowed the council to reduce duplication, modernise core services and begin shaping a more efficient and streamlined organisation that could serve the whole area more effectively.
