We have worked with Reach South Trust, the Department for Education and local school leaders to deliver a plan to support the smooth move of children to alternative schools.

Families have been offered places for their children at schools rated at least ‘Good’ by Ofsted and that are within a reasonable travelling distance. We are grateful to our local head teachers who have been incredibly supportive and accommodating.

How Dorset Council allocated places for Dorset residents outside of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole

We worked closely with Dorset Council to ensure those families who live outside of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole were supported.

Residents within Dorset Council were encouraged to apply for a place at a Dorset school for September 2024 and use the existing admissions page on the Dorset Council website.
