Several local charities will collect your real Christmas tree for a small donation after the festive period:
Please check if they are collecting in your area and book to arrange your collection early to avoid disappointment.
Recycling centres
You can take your tree to one of our recycling centres.
Our recycling centres have reduced opening times over the festive period:
- Christmas Eve: closed from 1pm
- Christmas Day: closed
- Boxing Day: closed
- New Year’s Eve: closed from 1pm
- New Year's Day: closed
Garden waste service
If you've signed up to our garden waste service for 2025, you can cut up your Christmas trees and place them in your garden waste bin ready for the first collection from the end of January 2025.
You can also cut up the tree into sticks and stack neatly in a shady out-of-the-way part of the garden. The rotting tree fragments support many insects and other wildlife, as well as improving the soil and feeding nearby plants.
