Lower Gardens, Bournemouth

Lower Gardens is Bournemouth's busiest and most popular park and is the link between the town centre and the beach, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.

There are 2 temporary trading pitches on this site. There is a maximum size of 6m x 4m for vehicles and 4m x 4m for gazebos.

The pitches are located opposite The Pavilion, next to the Big Wheel beside the flyover.

Trading times

During the winter, you can trade from 10am to 4pm. In the summer, trading is allowed between 10am and 6pm as a minimum, with the maximum trading time being 7am to 11pm.

We may grant exceptions for major events if we come to an agreement, email street.food@bcpcouncil.gov.uk or call us on 01202 128 535 to discuss this with us.

On arrival

To access the Lower Gardens pitches, there is a coded access gate by the Hermitage Hotel, the code changes regularly, so we will confirm the codes with you when you trade.

We will supply a plan and pitches are on a first come, first served basis on the day. We recommend you work with the other trader on site to maximise the space for both your pitches.

Please make sure the cycle lane is left clear in Lower Gardens.

Parking

All vehicles can unload but cannot park at the pitch. If you park on site, you will be asked to move your vehicle.

You can use a nearby car park to park - we suggest Queen’s Road car park as it's close to the pitches and has no height restriction.

Whitecliff Recreation Ground

This pitch is currently licenced to 2 traders for one year, commencing from 1 June 2023 to 1 June 2024.

The current license holders are:

• Bratwurst UK
• Cuppa Crew

Whitecliff Recreation Ground is part of Harbourside Park with picturesque views across Poole Harbour. Outdoor catering has successfully operated here for over 20 years.

The site hosts:

• year-round sporting activity
• regular football and cricket matches
• a regular sports camp during school holidays
• a popular children's play area
• outdoor fitness equipment
• a large open space for informal play and outdoor community events
