Cycle training for adults
Cycling is a fun, eco-friendly and reliable way to get around – it keeps you fit and helps reduce the number of cars on the road too. If you’re new to cycling, or want to build your confidence riding on roads, shared paths and cycle tracks, then why not sign up to one of our adult cycle training courses?
Our team of Bikeability instructors provide cycle training for anyone over 18 who lives, works or studies in Bournemouth, Christchurch or Poole.
Tailored to your needs
Courses are tailored to individual needs and are suitable for everyone, from complete beginners to people who would like to gain more confidence or more experienced cyclists who want to improve their skills on more challenging roads and junctions.
The courses can be delivered on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, depending upon the course required. Sessions typically last one to two hours, with the course duration and location agreed in advance with the trainees and instructor. For example the training could take place near the trainees’ home or place of work to help prepare and practice a commuting route.
If you don’t have your own bike, you can hire a bike via the Beryl Bike scheme.
Cost
We do not have any available funding for these courses at the moment, however if you want to fund this training for yourself then please email bikeability@bcpcouncil.gov.uk for more information.
Instructors
All of our courses are delivered by our fully qualified Bikeability instructors and you will be sent a list of these instructors upon request so that you can contact them directly to book your course.
If you live in Dorset but not in Bournemouth, Christchurch or Poole, you can find details of other adult cycling courses on the Dorset Council website.
