You can apply for one of 3 types of residential disabled parking bays:
- new general bay, which can be used by anyone with a Blue Badge, and costs £315 (fee will increase to £325 on 1 April 2025)
- new permit bay, which can only be used by the permit holder, and costs £450 (fee will increase to £460 on 1 April 2025)
- conversion of an existing general bay into a new permit bay, which costs £250 (fee will increase to £255 on 1 April 2025)
We must consult with the public before a bay can be installed. This is part of the statutory process. The payment will be taken before installation of the bay.
Before you apply
Before you apply, you should know that:
- your application may not be approved if you have off-road parking
- you must be the blue badge holder who lives at the address
- a vehicle must be registered to the address
- each bay will be 6.6m long when parallel to the kerb
- residential disabled bays have no maximum stay
- it can take up to 12 months from application to installation
