UPDATE 7 JANUARY 2026:

Due to ongoing severe weather, the Street Outreach Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) remains in place across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. It was first activated on 30 December.

UPDATE 30 DECEMBER 2025:

Due to the current weather conditions the street outreach Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) has been activated. 

If you are concerned about someone sleeping rough, please contact the outreach team via the following channels:

  • Emailing: BCPRoughSleepingService@mungos.org 

SWEP helps to protect and provide for vulnerable people sleeping rough during severe weather. It is activated when there is a real risk of loss of life because of weather conditions.

The Homelessness Partnership which is made up of community partners including the Council and Homelessness charity St Mungo's will  offer shelter to all people sleeping rough in Bournemouth, Christchurch or Poole by providing emergency accommodation.
