The public’s questions will be answered by a panel of experts from the council, Public Health and the Police in a live covid-19 Q&A session on Thursday 29 October at 5pm. This will be digitally broadcasting and residents from across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole are invited to submit questions and watch the session.
The event will be chaired by Chief Executive of BCP Council Graham Farrant, with Rachel Partridge, Assistant Director of Public Health for BCP Council, Councillor Nicola Greene, BCP Council Portfolio holder for Covid Resilience & Public Health and a representative from Dorset Police all available to provide updates and answer your questions.
The broadcast will include updates on the latest number and rate of Covid-19 cases in the BCP area, and the arrangements in place to mitigate spread of the virus. The panel will also answer questions submitted by the public.
The meeting will be streamed online live at 5pm on Thursday 29 October. It will be recorded and available to catch up on the council’s YouTube channel shortly afterwards.
We are asking residents to submit their Covid-19 related questions in advance, so they can be answered by the panel on the day. There may not be time for all questions during the broadcast but will aim to get through as many as we can, focusing on the questions that have the most relevance to the most people.
BCP Council also host a fortnightly Facebook Live session every other Wednesday. The next one will be a Covid-19 special with the Council Leader, Councillor Drew Mellor and Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Covid Resilience and Public Health Councillor Nicola Greene. You will be able to watch this live and ask your questions via the BCP Council Facebook page on Wednesday 28 October at 1pm.
Councillor Nicola Greene said, "The Covid-19 situation is an ever-changing picture and it can be difficult to keep up with all the news and information being shared nationally.
"We believe it is really important to keep our residents up-to-date on important and relevant Covid-19 information in order to help them safe and ultimately save lives. By hosting these digital update and Q&A events, we hope to be able to keep local people updated and informed on information and guidelines that affect them."
