Residents are being asked to have their say on the vision, areas of focus and ambitions that will form the draft strategy for Adult Social Care, setting out the direction and continuous development of services provided over the next four years.
Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council’s Adult Social Care service support vulnerable young people and adults, people with disabilities, their carers, and a growing number of older people across our communities.
The council wants to hear from all residents, particularly those who are or have used our services, their families, community workers and care professionals, so we can effectively develop our Adult Social Care services for the benefit of our communities.
Cllr David Brown, Portfolio Holder for Health and Wellbeing at BCP Council, said: “BCP Council has already started to transform its Adult Social Care services, and residents’ feedback captured in this consultation will help us to build on this work.
“The BCP Council Adult Social Care draft strategy aims to support people in living a fulfilled life in the way that they choose, and in a place where they feel safe.
“We are asking residents to share their thoughts on our vision, areas of focus and ambitions as detailed in the current draft strategy.
“We want as many people as possible to take part in the consultation, so we best understand and tailor the support we offer to suit everyone.”
Betty Butlin, Director of Adult Social Care at BCP Council, said: “Last year Adult Social Care supported over 14,000 people and carers in the BCP area (2023/24).
“The strategy sets out our direction for Adult Social Care, outlining an ambitious plan where we will work to transform the services we provide for the benefit of our residents.
“Consultation feedback will be used to inform the final Adult Social Care Strategy 2025-28 which is planned to be presented to BCP Council Cabinet on 2 April 2025.”
Residents are invited to one of our consultation drop-in sessions to speak with our staff and find out more, taking place throughout the consultation period at various libraries across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.
