Mark Howell and Margaret Phipps portraits

BCP Council Leader Vikki Slade has announced further appointments to her leadership team.

Councillor Mark Howell from Poole People and representing Poole Town ward will be Lead Member for Regeneration Projects.

Christchurch Independent, Cllr Margaret Phipps representing the Commons ward will be Cabinet Support Member for Strategic Planning & Local Plan Delivery.

Both councillors will sit within Cllr Slade’s portfolio of Dynamic Places.

Neither of the appointees will be full members of Cabinet.

Cllr Slade said: "I am also delighted to be able to announce that Cllr Mark Howell has been appointed as Lead Member for Regeneration Projects and Cllr Margaret Phipps has been appointed Cabinet Support Member for Strategic Planning & Local Plan Delivery. I am looking forward to working closely with them."

Cllr Howell said: "Key sites and challenges that are integral to delivering the vibrant communities and shared prosperity that our residents deserve have been left unaddressed for too long. I intend to use my creativity, analytical skills and local knowledge to help the regeneration team break through barriers and deliver high quality schemes."

Cllr Phipps said: "It’s important that within our new Local Plan we reflect and respond to the needs of the distinct areas within BCP. That’s why I am pleased to be taking on this role, and I’ll be working hard to ensure the views of local residents and businesses are considered."
