Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole residents are to be given the chance to quiz BCP Council leaders about their work as part of a new initiative to increase access and openness.
Residents will gain a behind-the-scenes view of the work of BCP Council’s new Cabinet – the councillors with special responsibilities over an area of the council's activities, known as their portfolio.
Throughout the summer, each of the nine new Portfolio Holders in BCP Council’s Cabinet will reveal details about themselves, as well as their work, with features on the BCP Council website, and snippets shared across the council’s social media channels.
Each Portfolio Holder will also answer residents' questions via tweets during a live Twitter session.
These conversations begin this week, with Councillor Millie Earl, Deputy Leader of the Council and Portfolio Holder for Connected Communities featured first.
Her portfolio includes community involvement, bereavement and coroner services, the voluntary sector and high streets.
She said, "For us to achieve our ambitions for all three of our towns, we must show that you can depend on the decisions we make and know that we’re on your side, working for you.
"Openness, accountability and scrutiny are crucial to the work of our new administration, and I’m looking forward to being live on twitter to listen to you, answer your questions and hear your ideas to improve the area we all live in."
