Reading groups for children and young people

At a reading group, children and young people can chat about books, take part in games and competitions and make new friends. Contact the library for more information and to register.

Charminster Library runs Reading Monkeys, where children from 8 to 10 years old can take away a book and a review sheet to discuss the following month. This runs on the fourth Monday of each month during term time, from 4pm to 5pm.

Christchurch Library runs Chatterbooks, where children from 6 to 10 years old can take part in activities, games and crafts related to reading. This runs on the fourth Saturday of each month during term time.

Kinson Library runs 2 groups where children and young people can take a book to read and review, to discuss at the next meeting:

  • Book Agents is for children from 8 to 12 years old and runs on the first Thursday of the month, from 4pm to 4:45pm
  • Reading Rabbits is for children from 6 to 10 years old and runs on the first Monday of the month, from 4pm to 4:45pm

Tuckton Library runs Reading Robins, where children from 8 to 11 years old take away a book to read and discuss at the next meeting. Activities include crafts, games and a treasure hunt. This runs on the first Friday of each month from 3:45pm to 4:45pm.
