Pétanque, which is like French boules, is played on an area called a terrain. It’s a sociable game that can be enjoyed by everyone, at all levels.
At Muscliff Park in Bournemouth there’s a fully enclosed, 7-lane pétanque terrain measuring 20m by 14m, which can be floodlit for evening matches.
The terrain, adjacent to the community centre in Shillingstone Drive, is managed by Muscliff Park Pétanque Club. The petanque club website has information on opening times, membership, competitions and access for schools.
