Birds of Poole Harbour is a one-stop-shop resource for visitors looking to find out more about the harbour and the spectacular wildlife it supports.
Opened in March 2018, the visitor centre helps visitors learn about the harbour’s rich and varied bird life. It also offers a range of interactive experiences showcasing the harbour’s ecological importance.
The harbour is recognised as nationally and internationally important area for several different species of bird and is also afforded SPA (Special Protection Area) designation. It is also a specially protected RAMSAR site and has numerous SSSI’s (Sites of Special Scientific Interest) bordering the harbour.
The centre can help novice and expert birders work out where and when to go out to look for specific birds.
