If you want to become a social care worker, for adults or for children, you can find local courses at each qualification level on our Skills and Learning Adult Community Education (ACE) website.
Social care courses last from 5 weeks to a few months, depending on the qualification level.
You will learn about:
- disability awareness
- mental health
- safeguarding
- morals and ethics in social work
- equality and diversity in health and social care
You will also gain skills in communication, wellbeing and setting appropriate boundaries.
