How we're helping with homelessness

Our strategy to reduce homelessness and rough sleeping is based around 3 core pillars:

  • prevention of homelessness
  • breaking the cycles of homelessness
  • continued improvement of sustainable services

Each pillar contains multiple commitments and the outcomes we have achieved.

Key impacts

Some of the key impacts from implementation of our commitments have been:

  • 67 single homeless accommodation homes
  • 24 new temporary homes for families
  • 60 RSAP (Rough Sleeping Accommodation Programme) homes
  • 70% reduction in emergency accommodation use in 6 months
  • prevention hub activity in place in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole
  • low levels of people who return to rough sleeping
