On Thursday 18 July 2024, voters in the Sandbanks Peninsula neighbourhood area made their views known in a referendum.

The ballot paper asked "Do you want BCP Council to use the neighbourhood plan for Sandbanks Peninsula to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?".
