Joint working between Safeguarding Adult services and MARAC

Staff who come across domestic abuse and violence must understand that some individuals may also need a Safeguarding Enquiry alongside a referral, to assess their care and support needs.

If a domestic violence or abuse case meets the criteria for safeguarding adults, The BCP Safeguarding Adults Board expects that the case must be discussed with the local safeguarding team. If required a dual referral to both the safeguarding team and MARAC must made.

See the Multi-Agency safeguarding adults procedures - full guidance on joint working can be found in appendix 6.
