Children in care placed with us by other local authorities

If you work in social care with another local authority and are looking to place a child in care in the BCP Council area (or have already done so in an emergency) you need to let us know.

We need to know about any risks or vulnerabilities about the child or the placement so our services can respond as effectively as possible..

Complete the looked after children information form below and email it to lacnotifications@bcpcouncil.gov.uk.

We'll use this form to update the register of children in care from other local authorities. We also inform the virtual school and the Looked After Children nurse team.

You must send through any changes to the child's placement or circumstances to the same email address. We will contact the placing authority every 6 months to confirm that the information on our records is still correct.

We have a guide to the resources available for looked-after children placed by other authorities.
