Free Carbon Literacy training for SMEs
Christine Davies-Eyre from our Economic Development (ED) team is providing support to our local businesses to reduce their carbon impact.
So far, the ED team has helped more than 50 local companies access Climate Essentials to create carbon reduction plans, as well as providing nearly £70,000 in grants for business decarbonisation. To continue to support our business community in this area, Christine will be offering Carbon Literacy training to SMEs in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
An important part of becoming a more sustainable organisation is employee education and engagement. Carbon Literacy teaches the basics of climate change and how our actions can have a big impact on our planet. As we approach COP29, there is a big drive on climate inclusion and reaching as many people as possible. Over 105,000 people and 255 organisations are already certified as Carbon Literate across the world.
The training will be delivered training online and in person across the next few months. Iif you are interested in receiving fully funded Carbon Literacy training, email carbonliteracy@bcpcouncil.gov.uk.
You can watch a short video of Christine announcing the support on YouTube.
