Missed bins over Christmas and the New Year

Unfortunately we were unable to collect bins on a number of roads over the holiday period. Please leave any missed bins accessible, and we will continue to try and catch up with the outstanding work over the next two weeks.

Due to high levels of staff sickness, our teams have been unable to complete several residential waste collection rounds over the Christmas period.

This means that some roads in BCP will either have had their bin collections missed on Saturday or may have their collection delayed this week by one or two days.

We apologise for the inconvenience that this will cause to residents and ask for their patience as our teams work hard to catch up with the missed rounds as quickly as possible.

We are working through the missed rounds in order - prioritising those which were missed on Saturday.

Many rounds are operating normally as per the Christmas schedule, and any refuse and recycling collections that are delayed will be operating one to two days behind schedule.

Food waste collections are working on average, two days behind schedule.

Please continue to put your bins out on the allocated day, and leave them out if not collected, and we will get to them as soon as possible.

We regret that the teams cannot take excess bags left outside of the bins, even if the collection is delayed, due to a lack of space on the trucks as we try to catch up with the missed collections as quickly as possible.

Any excess waste can be disposed of free of charge at any of our three household waste recycling centres at Nuffield Rd Poole, Millhams Bournemouth and Wilverley Rd Christchurch.
