Use of barbeques on the beach

Please choose your barbecue spot carefully. Remember smoke from your barbecue can cause offence to other beach users.

Hazardous barbecues will be put out.

When you’ve finished with your barbecue, please extinguish it carefully with water and leave it next to the bins on the promenade for collection by our waste teams. Do not bury or put hot barbecues into bins.

Disposable barbecues

Disposable barbecues are only allowed on the beach from 6pm to 10:30pm.

In Poole you can not have barbecues on either:

Gas barbecues 

Gas barbecues are not permitted at any time.

Barbecues for groups of 30 or more people

You will need our permission to hold a barbecue with this number of people. It must take place in a designated barbecue area between 6pm and 10:30pm.

For barbecues for groups of 30 or more, you will need to read the barbecue guidance and complete an application form.
