About this beach

Manor Steps is a Blue Flag beach in a quieter location on Bournemouth's seafront and an ideal family choice for a day or a stay at the beach. With great views of the Pier, Boscombe beach restaurants and amenities are a 5 to 10 minute walk away.

Manor Steps zig zag offers pedestrian access from the cliff top at Boscombe Overcliff Drive. The path lights up from dusk with solar powered lighting. Level seafront access to Manor Steps is by Boscombe beach or Fisherman’s Walk cliff lift (seasonal).

Public transport

The nearest train station is Pokesdown (1.2 miles) or Bournemouth (1.9 miles).

Cycling

Cycling is allowed, but pedestrians have priority. Keep your speed below 10mph and follow seasonal restrictions in place for July and August on seafront promenades and paths to avoid fines.

Fisherman’s Walk cliff lift nearby provides access to and from the cliff top (seasonal)

Dogs

From 1 May to 30 September, dogs are not allowed on Manor Steps beach and must be kept on a lead on the promenade, paths and zig zags at all times.

Find the nearest year-round dog friendly beach and remember to pick up after your dog.

Barbecues

You can have a disposable barbecue between 6pm and 10:30pm.

Open fires

Open fires are not permitted on any of our beaches at any time. You may be prosecuted if you attempt to light an open fire.

Camping

Camping is not permitted on any of our beaches at any time. You may be prosecuted if you attempt to camp anywhere along the seafront.
