Hengistbury Head features a relatively unspoilt pebble beach, with imposing clay and ironstone cliffs.
There is plenty of parking, with toilets and cafés at both ends of the site.

Cycling
In Christchurch, cycling is not possible in all areas as the promenade can be very narrow.
Accessibility
There are accessible parking spaces at Hengistbury Head car park. Beach level entrance to promenade and beach via Avon Beach car park. Accessible toilet with RADAR key access, on the promenade, next to the Noisy Lobster Café.
Dogs
Well-behaved dogs are welcome on the beach, but this is a nature reserve - when off the beach, please keep dogs under close control on a lead so as not to disturb rare wildlife nearby.
Barbecues
Please be aware that barbecues are not permitted anywhere on Hengistbury Head, including its beaches.
Open fires
Open fires are not permitted on any of our beaches at any time. You may be prosecuted if you attempt to light an open fire.
Camping
Camping is not permitted on any of our beaches at any time. You may be prosecuted if you attempt to camp anywhere along the seafront.
