About this beach
Avon Beach is a sandy beach situated in the coastal town of Mudeford, the beach sits just east of Mudeford Quay and marks the start of the Christchurch Bay which stretches out towards Highcliffe. Avon beach recently received a Blue Flag award in recognition of high standards of cleanliness and water purity.
On the beach you will find a café, shop and popular family seafood restaurant The Noisy Lobster.
The beach also contains a number of beach huts.
The area directly in front of the car park is allocated for watersports.

Cycling
In Christchurch, cycling is not possible in all areas as the promenade can be very narrow.

6 Accessible parking spaces at Avon Beach car park. Beach level entrance to promenade and beach via Avon Beach car park. Accessible toilet with RADAR key access, on the promenade, next to the Noisy Lobster Café.
Dogs
Dogs are allowed on all beaches from 1 October to 30 April. At all times you must clean up after your dog. Failure to comply risks a fine of up to £1000.
From 1 May to 30 September dogs are not allowed on any of our Blue Flag or Seaside Award beaches and dogs must be kept on the lead on all promenades, piers, zig zags and footpaths at all times.
Open fires
Open fires are not permitted on any of our beaches at any time. You may be prosecuted if you attempt to light an open fire.
Camping
Camping is not permitted on any of our beaches at any time. You may be prosecuted if you attempt to camp anywhere along the seafront.
