About this beach
Southbourne Beach is one of Bournemouth's favourite Blue Flag award winning beaches, particularly loved by the locals for its wide, exceptionally clean, sandy and shingle beaches situated further to the West of Bournemouth, away from the hustle and bustle of Bournemouth Pier and the town centre.
Access Southbourne beach directly from Southbourne high street through Fisherman's walk.

Cycling
Cycling is allowed, but pedestrians have priority. Keep your speed below 10mph and follow seasonal restrictions in place for July and August on seafront promenades and paths to avoid fines.
Accessibility
Accessible toilets at Gordon’s Steps (100 metres to the west of Gordon's zig zag) and Southbourne (near Bistro on the Beach).
Dogs
From 1 May to 30 September, dogs are not allowed on Southbourne beach and must be kept on a lead on the promenade, paths and zig zags at all times.
Find the nearest year-round dog friendly beach and remember to pick up after your dog.
Barbecues
You can have a disposable barbecue between 6pm and 10:30pm.

Open fires
Open fires are not permitted on any of our beaches at any time. You may be prosecuted if you attempt to light an open fire.
Camping
Camping is not permitted on any of our beaches at any time. You may be prosecuted if you attempt to camp anywhere along the seafront.
