Transfer your beach hut or site licence in Christchurch

A beach hut licence may be transferred into another person’s name when a hut is sold. Transfer fees are payable on change of ownership.

Mudeford Sandbank

The licence transfer fees for April 2024 to March 2025 are:

  • £22,000 if the buyer or proposed licensee is not a child of the current licensee
  • £11,000 if the buyer or proposed licensee if a child of the current licensee

Please note that for these purposes, a child means your natural or adopted child, but will not include your step child unless legally adopted.

Friars Cliff and Gundimore Beach

The licence transfer fees for April 2024 to March 2025 are:

  • £7,150 if the buyer or proposed licensee is not a child of the current licensee
  • £3,575 if the buyer or proposed licensee if a child of the current licensee

Please note that for these purposes, a child means your natural or adopted child, but will not include your step child unless legally adopted.

Licence transfer packs

Should you sell your hut or wish to transfer your beach hut licence into another person’s name, please contact the beach hut team who will issue you with a transfer pack and provide a transfer fee. Please note, a licence transfer will not be processed until all required documentation has been returned to the beach hut team along with the relevant transfer fee.
