Description

Countrymen UK supports men in Dorset of any age to access a farm and countryside environment when they have lost their independence through things like Parkinson, Dementia, a stroke or isolation.

The men have volunteers who work with them so that they can forget their illness and be around people who are well and can support them to do the things they really want to do, This may be horticulture, agriculture, maintenance activities, wood work or making presents for their wives. The men also sing at times and have a chat about current issues. The main purpose is for them to socially connect to their peers and feel useful.
