Apprenticeships offer high-quality learning and development designed to prepare apprentices for future employment, employability and community involvement of a high quality. We want to unlock local talent by offering a variety of apprenticeship options.
To achieve this, we commit to:
- reward our apprentices by paying them above the national minimum wage for apprentices
- provide the opportunity to have a mentor
- provide on and off the job training
- offer information, advice and guidance during and at the end of the apprenticeship
- use well regarded training providers with proven track records
- increase the range of apprenticeships available, with a specific focus on skills shortages and disadvantaged young people, including care leavers and those not in education, employment or training (NEET)
Rates of pay
We offer significantly higher than the apprentice national minimum apprenticeship rate of pay.
Our current rates of pay for all apprentices as of 1 July 2024
Apprentices are paid at 80% of the substantive salary.
Annual increments and pay awards will apply (in line with our performance policies).
If the apprentice becomes eligible for National Living Wage (21 and over) during their apprenticeship and this is more than the 80% salary, they will move to the closest SCP (Spinal Column Point) to the National Living Wage (SCP 15).
Guiding your development
We can give you a mentor from within the organisation to support your development while you're with us.
While we cannot guarantee a permanent job at the end of your apprenticeship, if there is a position available at that time and you meet the minimum requirements, you will have our full support to interview for the post.
