If you offer tattooing, semi-permanent skin colouring (microblading / micropigmentation / tricopigmentation), cosmetic piercing, electrolysis, acupuncture, microneedling or other skin piercing treatments you must be registered with us.
Please note: we currently do not register aesthetic treatments such as Botox, dermal fillers, dermal implants, vitamin injections, laser treatments or tattoo removal.
Once registered you will be issued with a certificate of registration. If you work from premises, they must also be registered.
Exceptions
If you are a registered medical practitioner with the General Medial Council (GMC) or operate under the direct supervision of a registered medical practitioner, then you do not need to register (or, in the case of acupuncture only a dentist).
How to apply
The fee is £127. To apply please complete the online application form.
When we receive your application, an officer from our Public Safety team will visit you at your premises.
You may find it helpful to invite the officer to your premises at an early stage. You’ll have a chance to show them what you are planning. That way, you can avoid last minute alterations or additions and keep within budget.
