Burials
There’s a choice of consecrated and non-consecrated burial areas to provide for all faiths and beliefs. We’ll prepare the grave in advance and a burial attendant will be on hand to make sure everything runs smoothly.
There can be up to three burials in each grave. If you’d like to make a family plot for future generations, you must ask for this at the first burial. Up to 6 sets of cremated remains can also be buried in a grave once there’s no more room for coffins.
Grave maintenance
After mourners leave, the grave is filled and covered with turf or grass seed. Floral tributes will be placed on the grave and removed after 10 to 14 days.
Graves are checked 6 months after the burial and are reseeded and topped up with additional earth if needed. The grave will be maintained as part of general grounds keeping at the cemetery.
We take care to ensure that our cemeteries and graves are well looked after. This helps to provide a calm, safe and peaceful atmosphere for visitors.
A cleaning and maintenance plan is available for graves and memorials at cemeteries in the Bournemouth area.
Dogs
Dogs are permitted in accordance with our Cemetery rules and regulations.
